Stumbled across this site on a whim, and was immediately intrigued by the clone kits offered. I purchased the orange distortion kit and 6 fun filled hours later I had a complete stompbox.

Thanks for entertaining me on a saturday :) your diagrams were easy to read and instructions were straight forward and simple.

This pedal has already replaced my DS-1 on my pedalboard and I look forward to building more...

So to the team at BYOC....Kudos! Till next time.

Thanks for the support, yeah i feel as if I've just begun >.<

All thats left is to find the right color paint, and finish the case.

I think my next project will be incorporating an effect pedal directly into the guitar... i just gotta find some one w/ a mill and im set.

:) O the fun times ahead, I cant wait

Welcome and congrats on the first build! Nothing better than firing it up and it working on the first try.

Oh, and watch your wallet - this is addicting!

Yeah, to have the mechanical inclination to build such a project is comforting, yet now im prowling the web for information on how and why the circuits produce the effects they do, production methods for pcbs, so on and so on. In hopes of one day accumulating enough knowledge to produce my own board, and forever immortalize myself in the form of sound. haha just kidding. But seriously my wife already hates it

Give her time man. She learn to loathe it  But get her involved early on designs etc... My wife is the only one who picks out the knobs on my builds. I try to keep her involved...other than yelling at me when the bill comes in. She's the only one who I will let touch any kind of knob in my house besides myself of course 8)

Welcome aboard!

Trying to understand why the effects work the way they do is something I immediately wanted to learn too...and is something I'm still learning. Ha.

Seriously, it's addictive and all-consuming. Your wife will come around...or not...no, no, definitely not. Ha.

Using vero and perf? Really there ain't much to it, with pad per hole perf you have solder pads just like with a PCB, and with old school perf you don't. For either you need to be creative and use the leads of the components to act as what would be traces on a PCB. And with Vero you have copper strips.

Creating layouts, that's a whole nother thing altogether. But there are 1000 verified layouts out there for both if you're up for the challenge, start there! Or, here even:
