Hello Guys.

My envelope filter is ready and working. But...

- The level knob does absolutely nothing. Is this right ?
- The effect is OK but its not the amount of effect I was expecting. I was looking for a wah sound and its not that much. It basically appears playing rhythm. On solos I have too little effect for my taste. Can I increase it ?

The range knob works fine.

The solder is clean and all stock BYOC components.

Thank you !

BELLEZA.

Sounds like it's working fine. It is a very subtle envelope filter, especially if your playing single notes. you really need to dig in. The level knob doesn't do much of anything. But you will need to tweek it some if you switch pick ups.

If you put two 440 envelope filters together you will get a pretty thick effect. But it still won't sound like a wah. It's not supposed to.

oh...you can use a smaller value resistor in place of the 2.2k resistor. But if you go too low you will burn out the LED inside the optocoupler. You should be able to go down to 470ohm without any touble.

Any luck with this?

I have found you can get the effect to stand out more by putting a fuzz in front of it. I use an Expandora into a Boss Octave pedal into the envelope filter and that works pretty good. Funk City on the low E and A strings!

I think it sounds great (I used the optional 1m 'sweep' resistor btw) but I was expecting something a little more over the top as well. I have found that it works best with both knobs set to about 10/11 o'clock. But yeah... it seems to work best on lower notes and chords.. not so much with upper register single notes.
