sorry i didn't know i couldn't just use somebody else's thread to relate about my problems it felt that i was having almost the same issues that they were having, also because i had contact keith at his email and send him pictures about it over 3 months ago and had no reply so i just let this pedal and project aside.... my bad so here is a new thread!!!
im having problem with my phase royal is like the phaser is almost there but its not and transform in some type of distortion pedal that's how i can describe i even tried to do the mods of r31 and a c1,2,3,5,6,9,10,11 and 12 mentioned by keith on the other thread but only maybe the pedal louder with the same problem... i was going to buy new 2n5952's because in my mind that's where the problem is but i could be wrong, then i read that they need to be matched so i didn't i need help at this point if somebody can help figured this out i would be very happy because this pedal is not working i bought over the summer 4 pedal that i built and this one is the only one that does not work
anyway i did some reading on the ic i don't know if that helps but here they are i used the 4 pin as the grond:

ic3 pins 1- 3.78v 2 - 3.77v 3 - 3.77v 5-3.77v 6-3.77v 7-3.76v 8-9.35v
ic4 pins 1-3.78v 2- 3.76v 3- 3.76v 5-3.76v 6-3.76v 7-3.75v 8-9.35
ic1 pins 1-3.77v 2-3.77v 3-3.59v 5-3.63v 6- 4.10v 7- 4.73v 8-9.40
****note pins 5,6 and 7 start at this voltage and start incresing and decreasing by as much as .50v as i left the multimeter on the pins
ic5 pins 1-3.78v 2-3.77v 3-3.77v 5-3.77v 6-3.77v 7-3.75v 8- 9.40v
ic2 pins 1-4.11v 2-4.10v 3-4.12v 5-2v 6-2v 7-8.8v 9-9.40v
****note pins 1,2 and 3 start at this voltage and start incresing and decreasing by as much as .50v as i left the multimeter on the pins

OK - so it sounds like your pedal is not making a phasing sound, but is causing some distortion, is that correct?

Is the bypass signal okay?

What type of power supply are you using?

Are there any other pedals in the signal chain? What type of guitar and amp have you tested it with?

Have you tried to dial in the trim pot? When the effect is engaged, do you get any phasing sounds as you turn the depth pot, the rate pot, or the trim pot?

If the LFO is working, the voltage at the middle lug of the depth pot will modulate and change speed as you adjust the rate pot. Does that happen?

thanks for trying to help me Morgan and the sound of the pedal is a light phase almost dry signal until i turn deph and resonance all the way up and then the pedal have a distortion to it. i have a boss me-20 and tried a mxr phase 90 at the store so i know something is wrong.

the bypass signal is fine, as per the power supply i use a voodoo lab but i tried with batteries and the results are the same.

my signal chain where this pedal sits is byoc 5 knob comp, mxr micro chorus and micro flanger which are all true bypass i tried also guitar and the pedal straight to the amp and also with a boss pedal in front but the results are pretty much similar except with the boss which you lose some tone.

as per guitar i have a les paul, strat and tele and the sound just change with the different guitar sounds, amps i have a egnater tweaker and a marshall jcm 2000 dsl 401 which is turn in the clean channel and dialed as clean as possible.

i tried the trim pot and i think i am on the sweet spot, as to the pots i have to turn all the pots all the way up and mix at 12:00 to get phasing like i explain before.

i tried what you recomended about checking the voltage on the middle lug of the depth pot and as i turn the speed pot up and down the voltage is the same at 3.77v it does not change.

thanks again for helping me

So you have some phase then, right? If the light phase you have speeds up and slows down with the rate knob, we know the LFO is working.

Please post clear, in focus photos of the top and bottom of your pcb, including wiring.

Glad to hear it! That's something I would not have guessed at; and that's also why we try to keep threads separate.
