NO BYPASS usually mean a wring issue. The placement of the wire looks good. If it works when Engaged, but not in bypass, we need to look at the "Bypass" part of the wiring. The only part of the wiring that is not in the "Engaged" mode, but in the 'Bypass" mode is the Jumper from Lig 4 to Lug 9.

So I'd suggest, reflow the solder at those pins (Don't heat too much or you can ruin the Lug, if it is not already ruined).

Do you have a DMM to check Continuity?. If so, when Bypassed you should have Continuity through the following path....

IN Jack Tip to Solder Point 4 on the Board....

Solder Point 4 to Lug 4 on 3PDT.

Lug 4 on 3PDT to Lug 9 on 3PDT....

Lug 9 on 3PDT to Lug 8 on 3PDT.....

Lug 8 on 3PDT to Solder Point right next to "T" in "Tremolo" on board.

Solder Point right next to "T" in "Tremolo" on board to OUT Jack Tip.

Let us know where you lose it.

provided im using my multi meter correctly all those connections seemed ok, i 'reflowed' all the joints on the switch. it worked for a bit then switched so it would bypass and go quiet when the trem should have been on, i noticed the wire from point 5 to lug five was crackling so i replaced it, then when i plugged it in it had swapped back so the effect was working but the bypass not...!!

should i just buy a new switch and start that bit again?

thanks..

Sounds like the switch may be an issue or it just may be the connections to it. If you are using the MM correctly then following DC's directions above should tell you exactly where the issue is. You can either set the DMM to continuity, which will beep whenever a connection is good; or resistance, which should show 0 ohms or something close to it indicating a good connection (infinite resistance is a bad connection - no continuity). I recommend the continuity function, it's easier to just hear a beep.
