 Post subject: which germaniums to get of small bear?

which germaniums should i get from small bear for the ultimate fuzz.

i think i want to use mullards if possible.
but the only npn that is clearly labeled is the one that says its
for a rangemaster. what gives?
which one to get?

The OC140's actually sound great in the fuzz face even though they are recommended for the rangemaster. Aside from one being NPN and the other being PNP, alll the old germaniums that were used in guitar pedals were all pretty much equivalents to each other. NTK275, AC128, AC127, OC44, CV7003, OC75, OC76, OC140, OC81D...They all had a typical gain of around 100hfe.

I'm actually going to use the OC140s I got from Small Bear this weekend... I'll let you all know how it turns out. I'm sure it will be fine!
