I was having problems with the foot switches not working all the time-
Took a look and found some bad solder joints-removed whole board to insept it as long as I had solder gun out-touched up a few things- put back together and foot switches work fine but I lost the use of the mosfet/none/silicon switch.
Also had no over drive but found problem- the problem was with one leg of op amp not seated correctly- after seating it, that seem to be the problem with no overdrive but still no use switch.
I must have disturbed something but what, where do I start looking?

Thanks as always for the help.

I've moved this thread over to the correct forum--the OD2 is an opamp-based overdrive.

You state that you've "lost the use of the mosfet/none/silicon switch." Can you please describe exactly how it's acting?

Sorry Vudo- it has been awhile since I posted- Good to hear from you again.
OK- the switch does not effect the sound at all.
Previous to today- -position none would loudest- silicon lower and mosfet lowest.

Can you tell which of the 3 positions it seems to be "stuck" in? Is there clipping distortion evident in the tone or does it seem to be that louder & cleaner "none" sound?

OK- put the pedal back together- just to see what's what-
On the silicon side- lower- swithe to none loader, but not llike before- no change on mosfet side.
I noticed my op-amp in here is op-amp is A2134 pa-
Should be a mosfet op-amp?

Just to be safe I ordered a new op-amp
CA3260 Dual MOSFET OpAmp

Doesn't hurt to have a spare on hand, but this has nothing to do with your problem. The various dual opamps available with the OD2, including the MOSFET converstion kit, are all interchangeable.

I'd really like to see a good set of photos of the pedal at this point. Please make them large (but small enough to fit on a single screen at reasonable monitor resolution), well-lit, well-focused close-ups of BOTH sides of the PCB. If your camera has a MACRO setting (most do; it is usually shown with an icon that looks like a flower), use that for these close-ups. There's a tutorial on how to post photos here at THIS LINK. Alternatively, you can use the forum's attachment function found at the bottom of the posting screen, but this may restrict the size of larger images.

Also, do you have a multimeter available? It would be worthwhile to check the lug-to-lug continuity on the clipping toggle switch in all three switch positions.

OK will do-
I need some time to take it apart again & take pictures.
Also yes, I have a meter, tell what you need as far as readings ans I post it all as soon as it is done.
By the way- is the mosfet op-amp better that what I have in there now?
Not sure what the differences are.
:D
thanks again for the help.

Check the continuity between the middle solder lug of the clipping toggle switch and the two outside lugs at all three switch positions and report the results here.

Differences between opamps are generally very subtle and purely a matter of personal preference. There's no "better" or "worse"--just what sounds best to you.
