Hey guys,

I've built many Blue Boxes successfully and built one awhile back. Well I realize the normal sound of the pedal is a gated fuzz, but it was WAY too gated, ie, I really had to hit the string hard to break the gate, or it was silent. Seemed like there wasn't as much fuzz, either. I did double check the parts values, btw. I soldered the trannies directly, but I'm thinking of socketing them and replacing them one at a time to see if I got a bad one. Or maybe a bias resistor? I'm definitely passing tone, just heavily gated.

Any thoughts? Here's the schematic and layout:

I would start measuring voltages on the trannies, and post those up.

I have a Blue Box clone with some funkiness as well.. I 'think' I have more fuzz than you're getting, but the octave tracking is not so good.. jumps all over the place..
