None of my friends were as impressed by this story as I was, but maybe you guys will agree that this is pretty cool.

That's so awesome! It actually draws in heat from its surroundings to produce more energy! One day these will be in our pedals.

That could lead to extended 9v battery life in multi-LED pedals for sure.

By the way, congrats on 100 posts, mxsix!

Very cool, consider this thought: We worry about global warming. What if these LEDs became so prominent (used in normal household bulbs or industrial sizes for example) that collectively they drew in enough heat from their surroundings to cause global cooling? If your house had 10 bulbs on, would the air temp drop? Think about your fridge. You could cool it by opening the door.
And if one of our builders uses the wrong CLR, then his foot may freeze to the pedal when he stomps it!
I do find this very cool in the "perpetual motion machine" sort of way.

This is pretty cool.

Go back and tell your friends there are plenty of people who think this is cool.

Oh man, if this can be scaled up to produce usable quantities of light, the applications are stunning. The lighting in a room could also be the AC for starters. Just thinking about it is making my brain hurt.

That is awesome!

It may create some sort of blackhole if used in too big quantities....draining all the energy surrounding it.... :|
