So after 12 years, I finally bought a legit guitar....

Image

It's a James Tyler Variax 59 and it's amazing. Even without the digital amazingness, it's a great build. I'm gonna hopefully have a pro from my church take a good pic of it Sunday.

(Also, I still have and will continue to have the Strat cj said would be for sale in two months haha.)

Congrats dude. These James Tylers look very interesting and the 25 guitars in one is really intriguing but I still lean towards being a traditionalist. I can see the idea of a footboard and my mac as being my whole rig but I love mt Swart and my Dr.Z. just can't see it being the same. That being said Your new purchase is really beautiful.

Congrats! 8)

The fit and finish on those guitars is awesome and it's swiss knife axe on top of it, would like to have one of those just for the home studio thingy...

I was leaning towards getting a very good Les Paul, but the reviews of this on youtube led me to believe just the actual guitar was really good.

I'm glad it did. It's a great traditional guitar. The body, neck and tone are awesome. I can easily see myself not even using the computer stuff sometimes. It sounds that good. The technology is just icing really.

The piezo pickup has messed up 3 times now, so time to ship it back.

I'm just gonna go with a LP or PRS. :(

That's a seriously disappointing turnaround. Unlucky man.

So no replacement from line6? Go for a PRS then, you deserve it

I really might get the SG with a Maestro. It's really, really tempting.

...and L6 had me do something to it on the comp and it works great. Also, the models now sound exactly as they should. I'm blown away by the models now that they work right.

And now the stupid battery prong in the guitar broke.

Smh at this stupid thing. I'm gonna exchange it and give them a second chance, but this is Line 6's last straw as far as me using anything of their's is concerned.

Just opened the new one and it's flat out ugly compared to the old one.

I'm pretty disappointed. I'm also worried the guitar is broken. FedEx dropped it off with a hole in the box AND the inside box too. We'll see how sturdy that computer stuff is.

It's not that bright, but it's brighter than the last one, the flame isn't as nice and as you can tell, there is dark colored wood from the middle to the top of the bridge running all along the guitar body. It's hard to see in the pic, but it goes all the way to the neck.

So disappointed in how much worse it looks. I was hoping it'd be a lot closer.

I'm surprised you've had another one of these sent to you after all the trouble you seem to be having with it/them. Hopefully this one plays and is as robust as a cockroach.

It's already going back. The computer comes on when it decides to, the action is horrific and makes the models sound completely weird and the real pickups sound like garbage.

Everything about it is worse than the first but the battery prong. I mean every single thing.

I have to say, I wouldn't recommend buying one.

You'd think after all the trouble you've had so far, they'd have properly checked this one over before giving you it. Not great PR is it?
