Talking to the bartender at the brewery last night and learning that she is the bass player in an all girls 90's covers band called Burning Nylons - but that she was born in 1990, so she'd only recently heard all of that stuff. I'm like what, you mean The Breeders already broke up?!

Kids born in 1991 are legal to drink in the us. That makes me feel old. Worse will be when I turn 42 because then I'll have been legal for as long as I had to wait to become legal. These things get to me for some reason ...

Or, I guess too married.

Reading a few minutes ago that Mr. T turned 60 today because, up here (pointing to my head), we're still sneaking sedatives into his milk to get him on a plane.

I'm only 29 ("only" is relative to most of you that is)

I started feeling old when I was about 24, I suppose the moment you feel old is the moment you stop relating to anyone younger than you, however I stopped relating to people
around me when I was about 7, I remember the day well. I had always loved electronics but on this day my uncle had given me a massive box of those brown resistors that smell
really nice and I took them into school. I remember sitting there in class on my own while all my friends were outside playing measuring the voltage drop with resistors in various
combinations (series, parallel etc) with my multimeter and 9v battery. that was the day I stopped relating to people and the day I started feeling old. at 7!

As you know, I work as a Junior High Teacher. This week is student body election week. This year we have posters up that students made, that have those little digital squares you take a picture of with your camera phone and it takes you to their personal website for their Junior High campaign. I don't even know how those things work. It is strange seeing "Vote for Becky" and a little digital block under it.

I wouldn't worry about it, it's just another step for that generation to achieve their dreams of learning how not to think and become zombies.

Amen!!!
Its kinda funny.. most "adults" seem to get all pissy at younger people for skateboarding in parking lots, walking around with no obvious destination..etc.
Im at the point now where im very cool with it. At least they are outside doing friggin anything instead of staring at tv or playing video games like trained animals!!!

Never thought i would say it, but, when i was a kid i was always outside doing something! My parents had to threaten me with bodily harm to get me back in the house!!

That is how I grew up. My issue was simple though. My dad said if I'm not back for dinner I didn't eat that night. He then left it up to me to make it back on time

I rarely was late.

That gallery was depressing.. half of those TV shows referenced, I didn't watch because I was too old for them at the time they were on. 3.5" Disks? pfft.. I used to use 5.25" Floppys.. My first video game system? Pong. Yeah, no cartridges, just pong, in black and white. It was a big day when my friend got Colecovision, or when I got my Atari 2600, and later the Commedore64- I had to load games from a data cassette drive (regular cassette tapes), and it took 20 minutes to load up my favorite game, Blue Max.

So yeah.. when a 'things that make you feel old' slideshow is clearly targeted at people a good bit younger than you, that makes you feel old.

EXACTLY.

Nothing has made me feel more old than the realization that I am approaching my 20th wedding aniversary this july. That did it. Seriously. I mean think about it. I basically play video games for a living, and play in a rock band. So I live the young person's lifestyle, and always feel fresh and young at heart and mind. But this blew me away, and I am having a hard time coming to grips with it.

I'm usually a man of good moral standing however I wouldn't have thought anything of stealing from Mcdonalds, as it was a friend worked there so I didn't need to steal, they did it for me

Me too man. I mean, when I was little our video games kind of sucked (Atari, Colecovision, the original NES later on) but video games and TV were for when it was raining outside and we were too bored with Legos.

Hehe - when I was a kid out skateboarding we used to get harassed by adults too.

And Geek - I think you made a typo:
