Hi. New builder here.
This is my 2nd pedal attempt (fuzz pedal being the first which went well)
Now I have just finished the Analog Chorus - Rev 1.0

The pedal works well when on.
However when switched off there is a clicking sound audible.
The speed of the click is in time with the rate pot. i.e. it gets faster or slower depending on how you adjust the rate pot.

Where should I look for the cause of this problem?

thx

Dino

my best guesses:
use shielded wire for input to switch and switch to output... connect shield to ground only on one end...

check that these wires avoid going near the rate pot...

you may check that the input from switch to fx in and output from fx to switch are also shielded and avoid routing them near the rate pot...

make sure the rate pot is not near input/output jacks...

try moving the wires around inside the box and see if you can minimize the tick with placement of wires/pots etc.

hope this helps!

I'm using the wire that came with the kit.
Are you saying this is not shielded?

when I responded I was responding 'in general'. i.e. "If I had an fx box that clicked with the rate... I'd check these things..."
Your kit most likely came with non-shielded wire and if others haven't had this same problem, it might be something else that is the cause... but when I hear ticking on a chorus/flange/delay pedal I would immediately look at where the wires for input and output are going (do they go near the rate pot???).

I've quieted down a particularly noisy flanger by getting two conductor shielded wire and re-wiring the input/output jacks and then the in/out to the fx board. This made a huge improvement... so it is something you could try.

i have the exact same thing, clicking away in the background when the pedal is off. i've tried everything, swapped all the wires for other wires, taken the thing apart and moved all the inputs/outputs around to see if that makes a difference. the only thing that works is shorting out the "rate" part of the circuit but then you only have half a chorus pedal. sucks.

mine's not going anywhere near my pedal board.
