Hi there.

I have just completed my build of an OD2.

It is a standard build except
The clipping section is MOSFET.
The boost is MOSFET.

The overdrive sounds wonderful. Really just what I was hoping for.

However the boost section doesn't make a sound. As a matter of fact, the sound is so dead I am pretty sure there is a break in there somewhere. This is true whether or not the overdrive is on or not. I have looked for a schematic so I can trace it, but I don't seem to have found one.

So I guess I am down to posting pictures and hope that someone sees something obvious. I didn't see anything by comparing to the pictures in the intructions, but it wouldn't be the first time I missed something by trusting my eyes.

Any ideas?

I'm not sure it's capable of causing your issue, but I see a component error that should be corrected. You currently have a 100 Kohm resistor (brown-black-black-ORANGE-brown) resistor installed between the two diodes in the boost stage (R20). For the MOSFET boost, that should be a 1 Mohm resistor (brown-black-black-YELLOW-brown). I would correct that first, and then retest the pedal.

You can find the OD2 schematic along with a parts list and a labeled PCB diagram HERE.

DOH. That was it! I clearly was confused by the hyprid nature of the box.

Thanks!
