So this is my first diy pedal that put together today. I have done the wiring of my own pickups and replacing tone pots and whatnot on my guitars, but never tackled circuit boards. I followed all the directions but for some reason the pedal shorts out when I engage it, the true bypass is...well....true bypass so that works! Here are a few pictures i took of the PCB. Any suggestions for know-nothing me?!

Thanks,
Tobin

Speaking as a relative n00b, your footswitch wiring doesn't look great. It looks like shorting could be happening on lugs 1 and 3. They are top right and left in your photo.

Check out Stephen's example here; I've learnt loads from it!

Thanks for even looking my man! I know that was kind of a chop-job on the wiring, but I've started to re-solder a lot of joints and I shall definitely take your advice! My next pedal, the Classic Overdrive, is a lot cleaner looking as well. Hopefully it will work too!

Hi, Tobin. Do you have a multimeter, to be able to check circuit continuity and DC voltage levels?

BTW, for future reference, HERE are some tips on wiring up the 3PDT footswitch neatly.

I do! But luckily the pedal works now, I resoldered most of my joints on the footswitch and from the DC adapter jack. All is well!
