Back in the late 90's I did an album as favor for a friend of mine, David Eli. He, usually a rocker, wanted to go in a more popsinger/songwriter direction, so we did a more laid back record then we normally would've given the opportunity. The drummer, Joe Gorelick, who played/plays in a few well-known post-hardcore punk bands (Garden Variety, King Missile, BlueTip, Retisonic) and I had to really lay back for this stuff. It was fun to make, as three old friends (actually four - the producer/engineer/studio owner - was a longtime friend) got to make a record together. Unfortunately, for Joe and I, the music wasn't up to snuff (or really to our liking). It was cool that I got to play all the guitar and most of the bass and keys, but bittersweet because it wasn't "my' record.
Anyway, Dave, being the "rocker" he was wrote a tune about Tori Welles, famous porn star of the 90's. The song is about the sweetest you'll hear about someone who does/did what she did on film (though under the middle "solo" section, he rattles off a bunch of her movie titles.
And yes, you can listen at work or with your children.
Always found it funny.
