Just wondering if it is normal that the light flickers a little bit from time to time.

Mine does the same. Doesn't seem to affect the amp's performance.

Make sure the heater wires are well soldered. Besides that it could just be a contact issue with the holder and the bulb.

I believe I read on another thread where it does this on others too so I think it is a "quirk" of the amp or about half a dozen people all made the same mistake. I've yet to see it happen on mine, but I've also not spent some quality time with it yet.

Mine does this too, but only if from the corner of my eye strangely enough. If I look at it straight on and try to make it happen, it never flickers. I wonder if it is the jewel vibrating and at certain angles changes the brightness that gets to the eye?

Hook up a DMM with alligator clips while playing and watch to see if the AC voltage varies.

I dunno, Mike. Sounds to me like maybe too many solder fumes inhaled.... ;)
