Radio Shack sells some nice 5mm LED Bezels with rubber stoppers. Does anyone know a bulk source for these?

Those are great bezels as they stay in.

I had a few of those rubber ones and for the life of me I could never figure out where I got them.....until now. Still don't remember buying them at Rat Shak but I guess I did....and paid out the arse I'm sure.

Thanks for the mammoth heads up.

I'm really liking these Bezels, but I wish there was a way to buy them cheaply in bulk. The bezels I used before were something like 100 for $10

I'd be in for a handful, if they're really as special as people seem to think. Can you guys tell me what you like about them?

nice and heavy, good chroming, the bezel extends as high as the LED so you can't accidentally shove it in by stepping on it, the rubber stopper fits tight so no glue required, meaning you can remove the guts (including LED) without removing the bezel, and comes with a lock-washer. by far the best bezels I've found so far, and the only thing worth buying at radio shack

+1 and I prefer the look of a bezelled LED. Personally I think it looks "finished" compared to just coming through a hole but everyone has their own likes.

agreed. I use them with 5mm LEDs for virtually all the customer builds I do. Although, I've started preferring the 3mm guys "bare" recently... and for that I blame RNagoda.

I use bezels, yeah, they look really sharp… usually the ones from Mammoth with the little white plastic stopper thing on the inside. But I'm always looking for stuff that works better, so color me intrigued enough to get a dozen or so if others want to go in.

Hey Justin I'm in for some. How many depends on how many people jump in and the price I guess. But, I could easily see myself getting 25 anyway.

The main reason I like them is that rubber stopper stays put. Those plastic ones I'm always fighting with, most recently on the Mag Mod. Was really pissing me off. But, they are seem durable like CP said.

I'd be in for a group buy with the amount depending on the cost.

NSDs anyone? ANYONE?

edit sorry forgot the reason I posted. I recently picked up some flat top 5mm LEDs to go bezel-less, but without the look of the turtle's head poking out. Quite sadly, I haven't finished a build in order to use one yet. Soon, I say, soon...

If the GO is serious I would go for 50 or so, depending on price

Tell you want, if there is interest, I'll lead the group buy on these bezels, if ok with everyone.

First, let me check with Blake to see if it is worth it. If no discount then no point really or if the discount is so minimal then what's the point. I'll get back to this thread when he lets me know.

Not that I'm a huge fan of Radio Shack but their price on these is slightly cheaper than Mammoth.

How much Todd?

I've asked Blake what he can do, if anything. He may not be able to, but it is certainly worth a shot either way.

I always liked the Rat Shack bezels, but these, at $0.17, are pretty hard to beat.

I agree, but that damn plastic pops out constantly. Guess I could glue it in and just pitch it for .17 cents and grab a new one should it go kaput.

Dang, every time I try to do a group buy it ain't no good  (see failed toggle attempt)

I hate people that make sense :P

I use the plastic/rubber stopper, heat shrink over the legs, and I am a BIG fan of hot glue.

Rat Shack sell them 2 for $1.69. It's only $0.11 difference on two, so If I'm ordering from Mammoth I'd get some but in a pinch RS is two blocks away.

Good grief. Heat shrink didn't cross my mind.... which is normal. That alone would hold that in me thinks.
