So, at the recommendation of another member here, I tried a new vendor, LED-switch.com. As you might imagine, they carry LEDs, switches, and a few other goodies like bezels, relays & things. All their LEDs appear to be thru-hole, but they come as tiny as 1.3mm. There are also some sweet looking 2mm cylindrical units that I've never seen before. They make me want to play lite-brite
Anyway, I wanted to let you fine folks know how things went with my order.
03/18/12, 2pm -- order placed, paid via PayPal. Nice smooth ordering process, took all of about 2 minutes to locate what I was looking for (bag of 100 clear ultra-brite yellow LEDs) and complete the order. Cost was $7.70 for the 100-pk, plus $2.95 for shipping. I also included a note to the seller, asking if they had a datasheet for the LEDs I ordered and requesting that they email me.
03/18/12, 4:30pm -- received shipment notification, complete with delivery confirmation #
03/18/12, about 4:45pm -- received email from the owner of the company with the datasheet attached
03/21/12 -- package received (from NC to WI, one day faster than USPS estimate), contents clearly labeled and well-packed, in a box that just happens to be the perfect size for mailing a 1590BB pedal
I have to say this is the best vendor experience I've had in recent memory. Nothing like combining good customer service, fast shipping, and low prices. I'm going to suggest that they start carrying stomp switches. If they do, this'll be my go-to vendor for all things that light up or go "click".
