Hi this is my first build the confidence boost.

I'm happy to say I got it to work after a few problems. I had some bad hum and after reading the forums and a check of my build I realised I wired one of the jacks up the wrong way.

Any comments tips would be greatly appreciated.

Also I've just bought the parts to make it into a pedal any tips on drilling the enclosure (bit sizes for pots jacks etc) would be great as I searched the forum and there didn't seem to be much.

Finally can anyone tell me where I would install a Ferrite Bead?

Looks good.
Are you going to box it up?

There are a few threads of people boxing theirs up in this lounge. Did you search "box up conf boost" or something like that?

I'd just get you a fat unibit and drill it. I've drilled many boxes and couldn't tell you the actual hole sizes. I just drill to fit, test fit as I go. You eventually memorize how many clicks on the unibit.

warm places theory sounds plausible. Occasionally, I wake up and think my snake is missing too, but it turns out it's just a chilly morning. :P

Thanks a lot I'll look into that. :D

Congrats!!! I actually wired my jacks backwards on Friday. It took me about an hour of trying different things to figure it out [facepalm]

Well done! There is no simple answer to all the drill sizes because it can depend on the source of the components. That said, I'll have a go and tell you what generally works for me:

DC jack 1/2"
In/out jacks 9mm or 10mm
Footswitch 12mm
Pots 6.5mm or 7mm
5mm LED 5mm (surprising)
LED bezel usually 8mm

Measure and check hole positions carefully. I'm pretty careful but I still make mistakes and I know others do as well (don't you TN).Mark the hole positions with a centre punch, then drill a small pilot hole. For the larger sizes I usually enlarge the hole in a couple of stages, which I find easier as I'm using a hand held drill. If unsure of the exact size start with smaller size and test, going up if necessary, which is basically what TN does with a unibit.

I bought all the larger sizes as cheaply as possible on eBay and a set to include the smaller ones. Look for HSS drill bits.

Nice one!

I'd definitely go with a step drill for the enclosure. I use an Irwin Unibit that I've been using for a few years now. I only have the one and it's served me well for a heck of a lot of builds. It's got a self-starting tip and drills 13 hole sizes from 1/8" to 1/2". Recommended.
