No decaling yet....metallic gold enclosure courtesy of Blake & co.

So should I add a horsey-man graphic and really push the limits of good taste? ;)

OK, good deal, Rej. I decided to build the stock-wired one first--prolly won't get to the TB version for a few days.

How about BOTH? Now, that would push the limits! Would bring a whole new spin to the term "tranny" around here....

OK, eye test for you hotshot DIY Klon-meisters: Find the one non-stock component type in this build (the one carbon comp resistor doesn't count). Dcountry13 is ineligible to participate.

Nice build, but sorry, I believe the LED is on the wrong side :P

And I'm no expert on this circuit (or any other), but isn't there supposed be another tant or two instead of the electrolytics? Did I win?

Yeah, and way too big! ;)

Nope. Should have seven 1uf caps--six electros and one tant, and that's exactly what I used. But you're warm....

No, not a mod or addition to the circuit. Just talking about a part substitution, something not called for in the "official" Klon BOM. Unless you've built one of these, it's doubtful you will get this. But it's clearly shown in the gut shot....just not very big.

What have you done with that 390nf cap?? looks like a booger in a piece of art!

I won!

And the TB mod works awesomely, no difference at all, i've put both side by side, did'nt notice anything! 8)

Thanks for that mod DVM and the other folks who gave a hand!

I think we have a winner! Yep, a bright green, tantalum booger. DC sent me a couple and told me he's used them in Klon builds with good results. So now I can claim it isn't an exact Klon copy! ;)

Cool. Officially verified now. But it was just like Madbean's TB mod for the Sunking, so I knew it would work....

You'll have to talk to DC about that....he's the "booger king", and was kind enough to send me a couple each of the three cap sizes I didn't have and couldn't get from Mammoth. When I saw the little green 390n tants, I thought, "Geez, those are pretty cool!" He offered to send me box metal films instead, but I told him I wanted to stick with the "boogers"....

Yeah, I knew you were kidding--I just wanted an excuse to call Rob the "booger king".

Seriously, with all the stuff you've been buying from him, maybe he'll throw in a free booger or two for ya!

Well there's the tant (taint?), but I can see from here that those diodes are clearly from an incorrect batch... :P
