Thanks Scooter! I'll be by to pick it up tomorrow!!!!

Looks fantastic. So if there was a guy who wanted to try his first amp project, how difficult would a Bassman be for a first-timer compared with some of the 18-watt projects that are out there?

So perhaps if one day you're sitting around bored, and you decide to post a schematic, wiring guide and BOM to make this head, you might (just might) have some happy DIYers out there  Slim chance?

But seriously I am drooling over this...!

The schem http://www.webphix.com/schematic%20heav ... _ac568.pdf

Wiring diagram could be improved and seeing as you have two channels and a spare triode stage, you could turn the "bass" channel into a JCM 800.

Is that the amp scooter (there are a million bassman schems out there.)

Totally calling Rusty Transformer as my next band name, back off everyone. Scooter you are really getting into the "eff off because I will never ever, ever be as good as you" category here  Seriously impressive work!

Nope. It based on the AB165 with a few minor changes.

I'd be only TOO happy to share with anyone who wants to know.

Well, there is a little more to it than an 18 watter.

I would think that the progression should be Champ > 18 watter > Bassman > JMP > Twin Reverb.

Although, MY first was a Twin. Typical.

Well, SHIT.

In the midst of enjoying the velvety tone of my Bassman today...I roasted the Output Transformer.

It was an act of the highest optimism to have installed it in the first place.

I'm pretty sure it was under water at some point.

I was just HOPING that something of the original amp could be spared.

Oh, well...

Time for a FIRE SALE>>>>>

Is it true what they say about the magic tone you get moments before you fry a transformer? It's supposed to be surreal.

A final portrait of "Lazarus". Hands down the best sounding amp I've ever heard...

And one more time - the beginning...

Many thanks!! I think it's safe to say that I WILL NOT be parting with this one any time soon.

I haven't added it all up yet, but the final bill (allowing ZERO for labor) was close to $700.

I don't care. I had fun and I not only have a BF Bassman, I have MY BF Bassman!

Dude that is freakin stellar work. If that is the best amp you have heard then that is saying something as I'm sure you've heard a ton of them. And I think I would "will" that thing before I sold it!

Thanks, 'hawk! 8)

I have a pretty cool assortment of amplifiers (including a very nice SF Champ I just bought this week).

But this one beats them ALL.

It will do everything from Fender glass to Marshall roar.
