Testing out a powder-coater dude....shoulda drilled first...turned out ok for the most part, but coulda been better...will drill first next time.......if there's a next time...these are fine-looking and will probably be more durable than what I do w/a rattle can, but they don't really look any better, IMO (and in my wife's opinion)....he only charged $1 for a 1590A, $2 for a B and $3 for a BB

Matte black and fire engine red (btty not ready for daylight pics, so red looks off)

red mini = SHO on vero...works adn I've been spending some time A/Bing it w/the Stage 3...either will do the trick for me, but the S3 has more flavor...maybe I've just had mroe time w/it...like 'em both

black big boy = Shoot the Moon....that doesn't work....my "don't work" pile is getting embarrassing....need to get a DMM and put in some debug time......I'm sooooooo excited  passes signal fine, leds on the board light up and are affected by adjusting the knobs....zero sound....really bummed cuz I was trying to be extra neat with this one (somebody lie to me and say it shows, lol) and zip-tied it all up before I even tried it....there's over-confidence for you...ugh......at least the guts are pretty.....ish

sorry for rambling

Nice wiring layout, it's "extra neat"....no lie.

I'm a noob and probably of no help on the sound challenged pedal, however, I do see that your 3PDT's are wired differently from one pedal to the other. One has a jumper between 2 and 7 while the other doesn't. Who knows, maybe they are supposed to be that way. Maybe one of the non-noobs can see something that would actually be helpful.

Good luck with the pesticide application.

That one resistor lead looks really freakin' long in the SHO. Great builds.

Switches: tried to see what you're seeing in the pics and cannot....the switches are wired exactly the same...'bout to physcially go get the pedals to dbl-chk....now I'm freakin' out, lol

Super-long resistor lead: that's the CLR for the LED.....wired it straight from the switch....I'm sure one day it will come back to bite me in the rear end, but(t) for now, I like doing 'em that way, especially in the mini's

Awesome!

Never fear, get an Audio Probe, and test your effect signal until you run into a problem - also double check cuts and traces and jumpers with perf circuits - you'll get it!!

And even if you dont - sell it for parts!!!

Switches: My mistake. I can see now that what I thought was a 'jumper' was actually a lead running across the pins from 7 between 4 and 5, then between 1 and 2 and over the side of the switch into the bundle of wires and over to the board.

Didn't mean to freak you out. I'm gonna shut up now.

Nice looking builds!...shame it'll get bent outashape in the troubleshoot. I'd gloat, but I've done the same thing too many times myself...to quote the 'Bean, "Rock it before you Box it."

Everything looks right with the trem, (I see you moved things around in the botton right corner a bit- bad layout  ), since the LFO seems to be working, maybe check your off board and switch wiring first?..and double check your cuts, especially the hidden ones- beneath R4,7,13 & the LDR.
Never underestimate the value of running a box cutter along the throat of a foe...oh, sorry wrong forum...between the traces.

+1 They do.
It's because we're pedal nerds who care more about the inside than the outside...despite the wave of mysogynist bravado that compels me to say the reverse is true.

Best non working build I've ever seen  Nothing wrong with the resistor. I just put shrink wrap on mine due to OCD.

I was not expecting the finished insides and was pleasantly surprised at this.

I have made a habit of running my knife in between the traces, but it can't hurt to do it again. I will get it figured out....eventually, lol.

Thanks for the kind words, men.

I do that too. At least now I know it's the OCD causing it. I thought it was the Zendrive.

I really must make a test rig - I generally box mine unpainted to test/mod/swear at, but it's still frustrating when they don't work. I try to think of the debugging as part of the build now. I've only got 3 dead ones but if I dig a hole and bury them in the garden, all my builds will be working! I wonder how many people have posted good looking builds and not mentioned that they don't work... Looks like I have 3 more to post after all!

You'll get it working - DMM / test probe combo is a must have for me.

Was thinking this too - it's a nice touch to the powdercoating. Usually its a pain enough when rattle can painting to paint just the outsides so we never paint the insides (except the overspray when you paint a drilled box  ). But the uniformity looks really good, esp on the matte black.

Dude, for $2 I would be all over powder coating. You get a variety of colors, they come out as nice as spray. For me painting is always a chore, so this would be very cool.

nice looking stuff, man - and good deal on the powdercoating!!

so, I don't know a darn thing about the trem circuit... but I bet it would work better if the "business end" of the LED was facing the same of the LDR. It seems like you wouldn't get much trem as-is unless you covered them with some sort of reflective shield so the light would reflect into the LDR. Check out mr. culturejam's version up for sale right now in the BST lounge.

^I have noticed that & think it's soemthing I might need to fix or at least do correctly next time, but it's not that the signal is unaffected when engaged....it's dead silent

Will be glad to figure it out (b/c I'm sure I will then know the solution to another DOA, lol)
