....Your phone auto-corrects to words like "JFET," "Tranny," or "Klone" (LOL @ culturejam).

....You know what the heck "True Bypass" is.

....Seeing boxes of enclosures, potentiometers, and resistors makes you drool.

....You know what "1590a" means.

....Your main goal in drinking an obscure type of beer is to post a pic of the empty glass online.

Keep 'em coming guys!!

...you get a package of parts and you can't remember why you ordered any of it.

...you get a package of parts and it's almost a duplicate of the package you got 2 days before.

- To you Vero is not a beach in California

- You ask if the local grocery does "group buys"

- You can build at least two different version of LED testers

- You have no idea why people have problems on Mouser

- You are more interested in effect pedals on Ebay that are "broken" rather than new

Haha, this one cracked me up. At this point, I'm so deep in the shiz that the Mouser catalog is so easy.

You go to the park on your lunch break to drill enclosures.

You've DIY'd a resistor.

You know the pain of a soldering iron meeting your lap.

You know at least dozen dirtier ways to refer to a Big Muff that other pedal junkies understand.

You love to stare at another man's Super Hard-on.

Your wife refers to other forum members as your "boyfriends".

You crave to see gut shots of your household appliances or your children's toys.

You've ever spoken with a stranger at length about the pros and cons of the ferric chloride and or the Hydrogen Peroxide/Muriatic Acid method.

You read "Make" magazine and wonder why they haven't done a pedal issue.

You've sent another forum member an oscilloscope.

You're all for a lead free world but you think lead free solder is the devil.

Just to be a wiseguy you've asked, "Is it true bypass" when someone posts a picture of their new car/kid/gun/drum set etc.

Your girlfriend/wife/fiancee knows the difference between a resistor a cap and an IC because she's stepped on all three.

You can't throw out an appliance without gutting it for components first.

You know you're a pedal junky if you've ever met Geek and he bought you a burrito! :D

...if your co-workers at a very non-musical day job bring you interesting tins they think you can use.

...if you've had your band name silk-screened on a custom set of fuzz boards.

Or if you met Geek and he bought you breakfast. Or gave you a ride in his car.

Hey! :?

..you've raided a needed pedal component from a working household device, then later replaced it.

..you've ordered pedal parts from a company who already has another package on it's way to you.

..your mother calls you early on a Saturday morning from a yard sale to tell you she found something she thinks you might be able to use for your pedals..

..you've built a pedal you have no interest in using, and has little resale value. And you can't really remember why you did.

..you've completely finished a pedal, but it's too late at night to see if it works.. so you built a second pedal instead.

..a trip to almost any retail store imaginable turns into a scavenger hunt for pedal building stuffs.

ALSO: You've performed an algebraic equation to calculate the resistance of a strangers' body, not because it was useful info, but because he happened to give you all the needed variables during a tutorial on resistors. (if I recall correctly, Stephen's body was about 1.26 Mohms that day). You then imagined using Stephen in an active pedal circuit.

Related Thought:

You know you are a DIY junky if your wife is actually AFRAID to tell you when something breaks around the house, because she knows that you will take said item, and regardless of the time of day or night, disassemble that poor victim in whatever room you find it, creating not ONLY a broken device, but now an autopsy scene/blast zone!

+1, did this yesterday. GFCI outlet died outside, once I replaced it, I had to see what caused the death. So I opened it up and found about 50 ants, cooked to the PCB inside...yummy. My wife came out mid destruction and ask what I was doing. When I told her, she said "how long did it take to change the outlet?"
"5 minutes" I reply.
"And how long did it take you to dismantle that outlet?"
"Uh, about 10. Why?"
"Just wanted to verify that you are a nerd."
"Thanks hun"

...you play in what by all rights is a folk band, but still use a double-tier pedal board*

*Bonus points if said board includes at least 2 fuzz pedals.
