damnz geek - I use nothing but crappy import cutters (harbor freight, and Chinese imported craftsman branded stuff), and while they're not by any stretch the best cutters out there, I've never broken them!

But the Geek has a grip of steel from all those years of gigging with Strats! ;)

haha - both of you. No Pantera while building, and no years of gigging with strats and wrestling with the neck. that must be it!

I had the same thing happen to two side cutters I got from Harbor Freight that I modified into flush cutters. I ended up going to Rat Shack and picking up what they had there. Not the best, I'd prefer ones with a sharper edge, but they get the job done.

I have a pair of these, and they work pretty well. I don't know how you snapped that off, but I have not had the issue with these.

Believe it or not I have had good luck with the Kobalt brand cutters from Lowes.

+1 on the Kobalt ones. I've got two sets. The pliers they come with are great, and the clippers hold the cutoff piece until you let go - really handy.

You are in the wrong thread. I think you meant to post in the Lava cable thread

This is what I use. Note: The people from All-Spec are really nice, but they have minimum order requirements.

I've used many different types over the years.

Once I got a pair of these at work, it was all over:

Yes, they are VERY expensive. They are also fantastic and I use them a lot. A $5 set of side cutters can work just fine, but I appreciate the quality of these.
