Hi Y'all!

I really liked the experience with my PIO and PETP caps thingy, so as promised to those who it appeals, i'm doing a groupbuy for Russian Germs.

Minimum Quantity per type is 10, none of these will have HFE measured, it's up to you, but for the price......it really worth it.

No matter the type, 8$ for 10, if we get a certain number, i'll be able to go way lower, it's all about volume!

3$ Shipping to US and Canada (Because i know the envellope will fit in the goddamnit plexi-crack envellope gauge that pisses me off everytime!)

Heres what i got on my listing, not even sure if some of those are usable in Fuzz..., so those who knows about it, let me know so i can have a useful listing.

No dead line for the moment, it will be open for at least 2week

Hehe, me loves some capitals!

Cool, got plenty of time to make your selection.

The niciest part of this, is that i don't make real money out of this, it's not the goal, the goal is to have what we need!

AC127 is NPN.

If you can get those $10 for 8, count me as very interested.

Ok, i have some members that asked me for some sort of guarantee toward the type of Trannie mentionned because sometime those biased...and incorrect.

I just sent an email to my seller in Ukraine to have actual pictures and random HFE reading of the AC127 wich was the main concern for some people.

I have complete trust in my seller for multiple reasons, but if it's what it takes to make everyone confident about this, it must be done!

Thanks!

So many of us have bought lots of 50, 100, etc from Ebay from former Soviet countries only to find a small handful useable.

Yep! That's why i did a request to the seller, i really don't want to get anybody in a buy that they could regret or simply put me in a bad situation......

I'm waiting after some email reply and once some stuff are settle and if it look positive i'll get a «vari-mix» lot shipped to Kunfuz, so he can test them before we make a big buy if it happens.

Because of the recent event that i just posted in this thread:
http://www.buildyourownclone.com/board/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=36950

I will put this on a semi-standby status, i will provide the information that i'm waiting for, but i will proceed to the purchase if purchase there is when i'm back...or while i'm in the Arctic.....depending of how good the internet connection his.....

Thanks for your understanding!

Ok! I got the answers i was looking for from my seller.

The AC127 are'nt what we are looking for.

But for everything that is PNP Germanium there's no problem at all, sorry about the bummer.....

So what i'll do, CJ offered me to test trannies and stuff like that, so i'll buy a lot of various PNP, those that most people would be interested in, GT308, GT313, GT402 and 2N404.

I'll buy it in the week to come, since paypal is still f'ing with me....., ever happened to you guys that they ask to send bank account history and stuff like that, in order to keep your account safe??? lol

Yes, I'll be testing a sample lot with my Atlas DCA tester, which does gain and leakage. It's nice to get an idea of what you're working with before you buy big.

And it's possible that after the buy, I could do testing for people's transistors. For example, you buy 30 transistors in the group buy, then you send them to me and I test each one for gain/leakage and send them back to you (each one in a marked baggie). I'm sure we could work out something for that, for those that would be interested.

You can test them like RG describes in his article: http://www.geofex.com/article_folders/f ... fftech.htm

Some of those "flying saucer" transistor have an internal "shunt" resistor which makes it impossible to get an accurate measurement of either gain or leakage. But, I can still test them for good/bad. And you can get a relative idea of the gain after testing several of the same type. Further, these part numbers are well known to sound just fine in effects circuits.

The GT404b (big nipple) ones are easy to measure and usually sound pretty good as well.

Ok y'all!

CJ did the testing on the germs i sent him........some results are good, some other are less....

MP165b (PNP) 2N404
• Gain: 53 / Leakage: 0µA
• Gain: 63 / Leakage: 60µA
• Gain: 61 / Leakage: 60µA
• Gain: 54 / Leakage: 0µA
• Gain: 69 / Leakage: 60µA

GT308b (PNP)
• Gain: 49 / Leakage: 0µA
• Gain: 60 / Leakage: 0µA
• Gain: 50 / Leakage: 0µA
• Gain: 41 / Leakage: 0µA
• Gain: 62 / Leakage: 0µA

GT402b (PNP) AC128
• Gain: 103 / Leakage: 110µA
• Gain: 57 / Leakage: 40µA
• Gain: 84 / Leakage: 60µA
• Gain: 100 / Leakage: 90µA
• Gain: 181 / Leakage: 150µA

GT313b (PNP)
Can't measure these because of an internal "shunt" resistor.

I have used some of the 2N404 that i received in that sample and they worked great.

I'm going to order a good load of those, with these results if some of you want to order some trannies let me know.

Even if some of the tested trannie seems to be low HFE, they would work anyway........some people could chime in about that.

Anyway.........this is what it's all about...., in the mean time i'll continue to search for a good germ supplier at good prices.

Thanks

Rej
