Big spring cleaning day for me at OTRFX Headquarters, subterranean level. It was really getting out of control for a while. Not likely to stay this neat for long, so here's my workshop while it's still tidy..

and what's a workshop without entertainment, so there's cable TV across from the soldering area..

lastly, some of the fruits of my labor..

I am envious of the amount of workspace that you have there. Very nice.

+1

Messy or clean...the space/area has me jealous. I want a drill press, but have no place (currently) to even put one.

DC- I feel like you should've won a prize for spotting 'Steampunk Supplies' What's in that bin will someday become clear..

PPG - The forum seems to have crapped out on your images, for me at least (checked in both Chrome and IE?)

Rej, that is all I am using these days. Find an a good pro autobody shop that can mix custom colors for you!!! The auto paints have such good metallics and perloids. I have a wicked "dusty rose" metallic right now, amazing. Any good autobody shop will be able to mix custom rattle cans, or you can do like me and use a PreVal, and just get small batches of paint. Warning, good quality auto paint is EXPENSIVE! Last time I paid $70 for about 12 oz, and they only actually charged me for 8oz!! Anything with any red in it seems to be much more expensive as well. That 12 OZ should do about 12 pedals, at two coats per pedal. (so what is that, like $6 in paint each??)

hopefully there some nice storage/organization ideas in these photos for people just getting started with the hobby. I LOVE my block of wood bit holder with all the drill hole sizes marked.. super convenient..

I also have a piece of sheet metal with every hole size drilled in it (to test fit hardware). I don't know why that's not in the photos, I probably 'filed' it in a place where I won't find it for months now.. That's usually the downside of a big cleanup like this..

Automotive paint- I enjoy Duplicolor and the many interesting specialty spraycan finishes they offer, but that's as expensive as I go..

Bang on! That looks killer.

So I see some engine turned pedals on the bottom shelf that have that cool transparent red look, and some duplicolor metal paints on the top shelf. I'm guessing that's the paint you used to get those finishes?
