I think this would be a GREAT BYOC. I have been looking for a good one for a while now.

The Aristocrat over at Madbean Pedals (now discontinued) was darn near a KOT clone. There's a guy at their forum called Haberdasher who etches many of the discontinued boards.

I noticed that i wanted a madbean but it seemed liked brian tried to tuck the aristocrat under the carpet. I wonder if Mike over at Analog man had some sort of cease and desist.

Makes you wonder, doesn't it?

Dude, seriously. If you want to build a two-channel KOT, get yourself a pair of Bluesbreaker clone PCBs. That's all there is to it, minus the clipping diode option switches, which you could wire offboard.

The KoT and the blues breaker are not 100% identical.

The KoT is BASED off of the blues breaker.

Obi knows nobody, CJ didn't tell you what VALUES you would populate the blues breaker PCBs with :P

Obi wan Kenobi? Maybe start an ultimate KoT thread? Because the stock KoT is NOT that great! But it might be a grand, grand double pedal. Two identical circuits is stupid, let's see if we can find a way to tweak those Blueasbreakers to work together like man and woman  Because they can

The stock Bluesbreaker/KoT would play well together with what? I just can't see that two identical circuits would do it. You want a double pedal? Take a modded Bluesbreaker, add a cool boost before or after. That will be WAY much better than the KoT... Or maybe the best thing is to take single sided pedals, put your favourite pedal before or after it on your board... That way, you get it the way you want it to be, right?

My advice: Forget the KoT: You can do a lot better with a littlle thinking :-)

I have heard plenty of double od pedals. The way that the KoT sounds is very natural. Not many other dual od pedals sound that way. The only other i can think of is Barber. The whole point of a single pedal dual chan OD is for space. Some of us don't want to deal with 2 pedals.

I found the KOT way too carboardy sounding through my Plexi. Way too much mids through an amp with plenty of mids of it's own. I much prefer the Tim.
The KOT does sound good through clean Fender amps though. It is what it is man, 2 Bluesbreakers one into the the other. Sign yourself up at Freestompboxes and have a look through http://www.freestompboxes.org/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=6884
