--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm finally getting around to putting together my Mighty Mouse board and would like to do Dano's mod for the MOSFET clipping. I checked the original thread with his diagram in it and every time this question got asked in that thread, it never got an answer, so I'm going to ask it again in a seperate thread.

Does the Mightier Mouse clipping mod switch take the place of the 3-way switch that is included in the kit? Do you still solder the diodes on the board in the area of the Overdrive mod and just "add" the switch as shown in Dano's diagram? Or is this switch in addition to the original 3-way switch?

Any insight would be helpful as I'm just not sure. I have the board populated with exception of the diodes in the Overdrive section.

Thanks.

BB

Hi guys, sorry for the delay.

Here's a pic of the wiring diagram that should sort it out. I can't remember it this was all 100% verified, so do a little checking before you start soldering :)

Warning: BIG image.

dan-o, would you mind quickly running through what each of the switches does on your FKR? I'm getting the general idea of mosfets and LEDs, but yeah, I could use a run-through on the use of each switch when you get a chance. Thanks alot

Dan-O,

That picture is AWESOME... on my 110" HD flat screen.

Seriously, that is awesome. I think that's exactly what I want to do to mine when I get it. Thanks a bunch!

Yeah, I warned you about the size :)

Ok, the switches from left to right:

#1: DPDT Overdrive: Adds an additional set of clippers to the feedback loop of the opamp (ala Tubescreamer). Switch between MOSFETs or LEDS. This is a center off switch so you can turn off the extra clippers.

#2: SPDT Mod: Changes the Alt shunt diode clippers from LED to MOSFET. Switch #3 needs to be in Mod position for this one to be in circuit

#3: SPDT Mode: Changes from the Alt loop (#2) to the Stock loop (#4). In the middle off position, it removes all shunt diodes from the circuit resulting in a nice big volume boost that can nicely drive the Overdrive clippers.

#4: Symmetry: When #3 is in stock mode, this switch controls whether to use the stock Rat 1N914 diodes or a 1N914/1N34a pair for asymmetric clipping.

they're LED's, the orange one's are for clipping and the blue one is the 'on' indicator.
