Was listening to JJ Cale and Eric Clapton's 'Road to Escondido' in the car on the way in this morning. Now that my client teleconference is over, time to fire up the mp3 player on shuffle. 30 gigs - of doom!

Not quite punk, but good and heavy sometimes and melodic, rhyming, and light hearted at others. Jimmie's Chicken Shack from Pushing the Salmonella Envelope ' This is Not Hell'. This came out around 97 I think. Good times - I haven't heard this in a long time.

Listening to the new "Airbourne Toxic Event" record...very cool. Kinda Arcade Fire meets Nada Surf.

Fu Manchu - We Must Obey

Inspired me to introduce stoner fuzz to the Banditos, which is either genius or madness. I'm building Dragonfly's Montezuma Fuzz especially for the experiment.

"Nutshell", Alice in Chains. My band LOVES playing this tune, and I play nothing like Jerry Cantrell does on this one. It's a great tune, though.

And now we've just swithed to Iron Maiden, "Caught Somewhere in Time"

UP THE IRONS

I'm a huge fan of both AIC and Maiden. Excellent choices.

"Warpaint" by The Black Crowes & "XV" by King's X.

The Crowes may be the last real rock and roll band.

GREAT album.

Rush is the reason I decided to learn to play when I was 13. They have never let me down and this album is no exception. We saw the show last year and they just killed! "Entre Nous" was a real highlight and all the new songs were terrific live. Now, if they would only play "The Camera Eye"...

Was listening to Rush - 'Snakes and Arrows Live ' in the car on a coffee run. Good set. Sounds like every other live Rush CD as of the past decade or so, except, you know, containing tracks from the latest album.

Right now, I'm in the middle of Jawbreaker's 24 Hour Revenge Therapy. Blake Schwarzenbach is one of my favorite song writers. Especially his stuff with Jets to Brazil.

Haha, how true! I'm sure he's down on his knees at one point even though I can't see him. Brilliant track.

Love this album! Got mixed reviews, but I really dig it.

Right now listening to Katie Webster's 'Pussycat Moan'. Billed as a blues singer on Alligator Records, but DAMN this woman has just about the most soulful voice I've heard. Dig on her backing band too.
