B.Y.O.C. offers a full line of guitar DIY guitar FX kits that are
based on some of the most famous circuits ever and use top
shelf components to provide you with great sounding boutique
quality effects pedals that are not only fun to build and save

Our kits come with absolutely EVERYTHING you need to build
a complete pedal right down to the hook up wire. The circuit
board is ready-to-solder and the enclosure is pre-drilled. The
only thing you'll need are a few basic tools and a little
patience. And they're easy to build too. The step by step
instructions make it as simple as paint by numbers.

out your info. We don't even send out a monthly news letter. The only
time we send out mass emails are to announce the release of a new

Jan 13th 2008 - New Mouse Kit released.  Octave Fuzz and Confidence Boost instructions have minor updates.

Jan 1st 2008 - New Large Beaver release.

Dec 20th 2007 - Due to inclimate weather, a lot of orders have been delayed en route.  If your order is late and you check the tracking info, and your package has been stuck in Hodgekins, IL for 3 or 4 days, please remain calm.  It's just snow.  There's nothing we can do about it other than try to be patient.  The good news is that UPS will be delivering on the 24th, so you guys who have had your shipments delayed should still get it in time.

Dec 10th 2007 - Complete Wah kits w/enclosures are back in stock.

Dec 5th 2007 - We're still not completely caught up, but we're in better shape than we were last week.  We are out of the compressor kit for the time being until we get the CNC machine dialed in and cranking out enclosures.

Dec 1st 2007 - We're almost completely moved into the new shop.  I'm working this weekend so that we'll be caught up on orders by Monday.

Nov 25th 2007 - Well...let's see...We just had our third child last week (better to have too many than not enough) and we are moving to a new shop yet again!  This is the reason for slow shipping this week.  I do truly appologize for all the inconveniences lately.  Once we get settled into the new NEW shop, we should be able to offer same day shipping again and you'll start to see all the new kits that were supposed to be released months ago.  The new envelope filter & fixed wah kits are just now released.

Nov 7th 2007 - Out of stock items:  Delay, Chorus, EQ, Mighty Mouse, Large Beaver, Armstrong Twin, Envelope filter.  We don't have an ETA on when these will be back in stock yet.

Oct 14th 2007 - Big one day sale.  Unfortunately there's a lot of stuff that's currently out of stock.  Fuzz kits, delays, envelope filters, Large Beavers, Mighty Mouse, Lazy Sprocket, chorus.  This is going into the sale.  So who knows what will run out during the sale.  But it's a moving sale.  That's the idea.  So there will be no rainchecks...period.

Oct 5th - We will be moving at the end of this month.  We'll stop taking orders on the 15th so that we'll have time to pack up.  And then it will take a few days to get into the new shop.  And probably another week to set up the CNC machine and recalibrate it.  Lots of fun!

Oct 1st 2007 - Large Beaver sale is over.  We are out of Envelope filter kits.  Probably won't get any more for a few weeks.  There seems to be a lot of broken "add to cart" buttons.  If you get one, please report it to keith@buildyourownclone.com

Sept 27th 2007 - We are currently out of Chorus kits, Armstrong Twin kits, Mighty Mouse kits, and Complete wah kits.  We still have plenty of wah drop in kits though.

Sept 15th 2007 - New 5 knob compressor kit and confidence booster kits are released.  Buy 3 get a free large beaver sale begins.  Ends Septh 30th.

Sept 6th - Octave kit has been upgraded and is now avaiable.  EQ kit has been upgraded and is now available.  A page has been added for the new Confidence Booster kit, but won't be available till the 15th.  We're shooting for the 15th as the release date for the 5 knob compressor and maybe another buy 3 get one free sale with the Large Beaver as the featured kit.  Keep an eye out for our newsletter.

Sept 5th - Sorry we haven't been updating the site or keeping you posted on new stuff.  We're still recovering from the tremolo sale.  Our schedule has changed a little because we are so busy.  Get on the mailing list (link at the bottom of this page)to be notified of the next sale and new products...which are coming very very soon.

August 4th 2007 - Revised the "freestuff" page.  Added a $400 and $600 level.

August 1st 2007 - The new Shredder and Armstrong Twin kits have just been released.  Buy 3 get a free tremolo sale has begun.

July 25th 2007 - Leaving for NAMM tomorrow.  The website/store will still be open to place orders, but I will be in Austin, TX till the 30th so expect shipping delays.

July 21st 2007 - Buy Three Get A Free Tremolo Sale starts the First of August. The Shredder and Armstrong Twin kits will be released the same day.  Release of the Flanger kit is being pushed back at least a month.  There's a good possiblity that we'll be relocating during the originally scheduled release date....and that just won't work.

July 11th 2007 - We just got some picks in with the BYOC logo on it.  They will be for sale by the dozen, but we'll also be throwing in a couple free with orders.

July 9th 2007 - We are currently out of a lot of the PCBs for sale "ala carte".  We should have everything back in stock with the exception of the compressor PCB within the next 2 weeks or less.

June 15th 2007 - We apologize for the slow shipping this week.  Technical difficulties.  Delay kits are out of stock.  Should be back in about a week.  We've added free shipping options.  Checkout the new "free stuff!" page for more details.

June 13th 2007 - Wah kits are finally back in stock!  Sorry that took so long.

May 18th 2007 - We're kinda out of stock in a few items at this very moment but we've got parts for just about everything in, so hopefully by Monday everything will be available to order.  We are still out of the wah kits though.  I thought we would have those back in by now, but now I'm not exactly sure when they will be back in stock.  And of course the EQ kits are not in stock.

May 14th 2007 - EQ kits are out of stock and won't be back in stock for a while.  At least 13 weeks.  Chorus and wah kits are out of stock too, but we expect both to be back in stock this week.

May 3rd 2007 - EQ kits are back in stock, but in very limited quanities.  There's only 25 available.  Lazy Sprocket kits are back in stock.  Tremolo and Phaser PCBs are back in stock.  Overdrive PCBs and Wah kits are still out of stock, but should be available again next week.  MK2 tonebender PCBs are out of stock and will be for another 3 - 4 weeks.

May 1st 2007 - Just got the new solder alien t's in.  We got more of the black and white t's in and in 2XL this time too.  At this time we are currently out of wah kits, lazy sprocket kits, overdrive PCBs, Phaser PCBs, and tremolo PCBs.  We should have the trem and phaser PCBs and Drop in wah kits in stock very soon.  The overdrive PCBs and Lazy sprocket kits will be about another week or 2, and we're not sure when we'll get the full wah kit in stock again, but we hope it will be soon.

April 24th 2007 - EQ kit went on sale today for the first time at 10pm PST.  Unfortunately we only have 11 in stock.  The EQ page was updated accordingly...pics added and instructions posted.  We aren't really sure when we will get more in stock and there is absolutely no waiting list, backordering, or preordering, so please don't ask.    When we are able to offer the EQ kit as a regularly stocked item, we will send out an email, so if you'd like to be notified, join the mailing list.  We are also out of Overdrive PCBs at the moment.  We should have more of those in stock in about 2 weeks.

April 18th 2007 - Changed some of the navbars and off site links.

April 17th 2007 - Updated the site today.  A sort of "spring cleaning".  Just added this mini blog, about us page, contact page, revised the flow of the site, and fixed a few minor errors in some of the PDF instructions.  Wah kits and a few PCBs are out of stock.  Official ETA is 3 weeks, but I hope to get most of that stuff in the next two weeks.
