Starter Packages
This is the best way to go for anyone who wants to start building pedals but has no experience and
none of the tools required. One of our starter packages will save you money and get you building your
own guitar effects pedals as soon as you open the box. It comes with the Beginner's Tool Kit which
consists of a Solder Station; Economy Digital Multimeter; wire cutters; pliers; wire strippers, solder; and
desolder braid. It also includes our Confidence Boost Kit and Signal Tester Kit. The Confidence Boost
Kit is an extremely simple project that allows the builder to become familiar with various components and
get some practice soldering. The signal tester is perhaps the most valuable trouble shooting tool a
pedal builder can have. The starter package also includes either 1 or 2 of our most popular and
easy-to-build kits. Choose from 250+, British Blues Overdrive; Classic Compressor; Classic Overdrive;
Octave Fuzz; Scrambled Octave; or Tremolo kits.

Soldering Station

Dollar for dollar the best solder station on the
planet. Perfect for pedal building. 5 - 40watt
adjustable heat. Ultra-fine conical tip is solid
copper with steel plating for excellent, even
heat transfer and long life. You'll have to
spend $100+ to find a better iron.

Economy Digital
Multimeter

Perfect low-cost entry-level DMM to get you
started until you graduate to a more
expensive DMM. It takes voltage and
resistance readings well enough for the
purpose of pedal building and it even has a
transistor tester.

Diagonal Cutters

Diagonal cutters, dykes, wire
cutters....whatever you want to call
them....this is the most important tool in pedal
building second only to your soldering iron. If
you don't have a pair, you're going to need
them.

Solder

.032" diameter 60/40 rosin core solder in a
dispenser tube. Enough to build about 3
typical effects pedals. Price is for one tube.

Wire Strippers

Very simple as far as wire strippers go, but
these work much better for smaller gauge
wire and in tight spaces.

Bent Nose Pliers

These aren't an absolute necessity, but they
are still a very handy tool. The needle nose
and bent angle make these ideal for the
more delicate parts of pedal building, but
they're still sturdy enough to use to tighten
nuts.

Desoldering Braid

Finely braided copper strands used to wick
up and remove unwanted solder.

Signal Tester Kit

Build and use this tool to track down shorts,
cold joints, and faulty components in your
audio signal path. This tool is often times
more useful than a DMM when
troubleshooting effects pedals. Click here for
